Jacques L. Condor-Maka-Tai-meh
Jacques L. Condor (Condor-Maka-Tai-meh) is a true storyteller, the kind you picture at a campfire. Native American-French  Canadian, he  writes in poetic English about the tales and legends and the cultural heritage of his native people. He speaks on the challenges of cultural and language differences when writing in English about other cultures. 

Jacques L. Condor, a resident of more than fifty years in Alaska and the northwest Pacific Coast has lived and taught the art, history and culture of his Native American Algonkin heritage around the Pacific Rim. Condor has had a varied career as a college professor, art director, gallery owner, TV and stage actor and director, film actor and a children's art and drama teacher. He taught for the Government's Native American Indian Education program for ten years in the state of California, before retiring in 1999. He has been the recipient of five State Arts Grants to develop Native American Theater in Alaska and three in California. Condor devotes his time to writing, painting and his grandchildren.

Condor produces original Native American art, including prints and paintings, cradle boards and Katsinas, totem poles, decorated baskets and gourd containers. He also replicates Native American articles and clothing upon commission. His work can be found in museums in Alaska and in California.

Condor is an elder in the Southern California community of associated Tribes and participates in annual gatherings and ceremonies of the Tongva and Chumash people. He is a tribal story teller and works to preserve traditional tribal cultures.
